Mohsen Seifi joined ASTM International in September 2016 as a 1st director of additive manufacturing programs. Currently he is also having an appointment as a staff scientist/researcher in Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical Reliability Center (AMMRC) at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). He received both his master and doctoral degree from CWRU in materials science and engineering (2011-2015). He has conducted extensive work on qualification of advanced materials including Titanium and super alloys made by additive manufacturing (AM) techniques for use in critical applications. He has co-authored more than 20 publications and has presented more than 60 talks at various technical meetings while also receiving various technical society honors and awards including 2015 and 2014 ASTM International Scholarship Awards, 2015 TMS Henry Dewitt Smith Scholarship, 2015 ASM International President Award and 2014 ASTM Design Project Grant. He is currently working at ASTM International as a director of additive manufacturing programs to facilitate standardization activities across all ASTM technical committees and building new partnerships as well as development of new AM related products and services within diverse ASTM portfolio.
